I’ll call this ‘Pale Shana’ instead.
Browsing through amiami’s site led me to some updates; most of them are already covered by tj and dannychoo and the like on new stuff and the WF’07. But what caught my eye now was this figure by FineScenery.
The eyes were very sinister looking, and the expression on Shana’s face, cold. the detail’s quite nice though, with the buttons painted in a bronze/gold color. The skintone’s akin to what you’ll expect on vampires and the like.

I hate the parting of the hair, which made it look like her hair’s another entity altogether.

The back view was a lot more pleasing, with moe pantsu (pun intended) and fluid back hair flowing against her movement.

I like how the ends of the hair are crisp and sharp. At least they didn’t really have the feel of tentacle monsters. The Nietono no Shana also shows signs of weathering, which is good since it’s used often. The ‘weathered weapon’ gives the entire figure a ‘gritty’ feel.

Shana with her cloak option.

Did you guys ever realise that this figure’s prototype was released long ago, but never got to the point of mass production, until now. At that time, the teeny pictures amongst hobby and figurine mags covering the conventions featuring this Shana made it look ‘dynamic’ and, in most Shana fans’ terms, one that would be acceptable as a ‘motion capture’ figure. My 2 complaints were her hair sculpt and her paintjob; her hair made her look like a ‘hair monster’ on top of her head due to the lack of discretion to hide the moulding line parts, while the paintjob made her look too evil, and emitting a totally different Shana feel altogether.
By the way, this is a ‘preview’, rather than a review. I’m basing it on the same pictures you see.
It’ll be a May ‘07 release, with a price tag of 5000 yen. I guess as the level of workmanship for figures rise, the benchmark price would, too. More information at amiami.
To think I was so excited at that point of time when I first glanced at it; now I have to reconsider alot of times to get it. I prefer the halter blue top Shana with pillow melon ‘pan’ one instead. Or the other upcoming ToysWorks one.

I do like the “dynamic”pose. Thanks for the review, Shana
noooo moooore shanaaaaaaaaa
I SWEAR. NO MORE. *resists*
i think i don’t prefer this…. i feel that the color is too dull….
on a second look, the poses and the details are good though…
My first time really reading you blog ^_^
The figure looks good, I think I might want to get it but 5000 yen is pretty steep. What’s the ratio aspect? 1/6? 1/7? 1/8?
ok, never mind, I checked the site and it says 1/8 scale..seems quite expensive…add to that the fact that the hair “crack” sucks…

welcome! I hope you’ll like the articles.. =)
They should make the hair parting a lot more discreet, like Max Factory’s Ignis and Alter’s line of Otoboku figures.

IMO I think the color’s supposed to be dark and duller than normal; you don’t see Dark Saber having bright pinkish skin, do you?
@sentinel-sama:
Do you know any nice Shana figures with nietono no shana in full glory, other than this one?
