The Bonkurasu Brigade

Review + mod : 1/144 HG Gundam Exia (Extended)

Finally finished with the modded parts. I have to say I’m quite satisfied with it, since I’m able to come up with 3 mods for the Exia along the way.

Areas that I’ve modded:
-Drilled 5mm holes on the shoulder armor of Exia to accommodate the Kotobukiya peg for the mod pieces
-used spare polycaps for the main pivot joint for the shoulder
-spare boosters from my 1/144 HGUC Gaplant Hrairoo
-clipped off ends of the ‘wings’ on Kyrios’s knees
-spare kotobukiya ball polycaps with spare polycaps from old kits to extend the length of the connecting part between the ’shoulder’ and ‘leg’ parts of the mod.
-water slide decals from MG Freedom and HGUC set mostly.

This is the scout mode of the mod; the ‘booster’ parts are to facilitate the direction and movement and increase the output of the GN particles emitted on the backpack; increasing the mobility through short bursts of speed.

The ‘battle’ mode of the mod, which is similar in function with Freedom Gundam’s Hi-MAT mode.

I haven’t thought of a name for this mode, but it’s capability is similar to Launcher Strike and GP03D, with a GN particle output surpassing that of Virtue’s Cannon Mount mode.

Do note that I made up all my specifications in terms of the mod. But I based it according to references of the data that’s given in their normal specifications.

    tragic comedy>

the same way all bulky MS with binders move about. Examples are Freedom and Justice from Gundam Seed. Or even the Meteor Unit.

You can’t buy that anywhere else; it’s a custom mod. Please be reading the first paragraph of this entry. =)

  17. sentinel011 March 12th, 2008 3:50 pm

Yes I painted the kit via handbrushing mostly. Only the main frame’s exia’s blue was not painted.

Nice idea, quite creative, but, isnt it kinda funny? fighting with the leg. just saying. imagine, you plugging your friend’s leg to fight someone.. and if it really ends up going to battle field.. i think the mods will me destoryed quite fast, as it quite difficult to dodge with these. but still, i admire your creativity, seriously.

    @timothy

Thank you for your constructive comments ^^

But yea, I take it as kyrios wasn’t built in the first place, and the lower part of the leg was the design of the ‘backpack’ instead.
