The Bonkurasu Brigade

The DVD set consists of 3 DVDs, and for this review, I’ll be doing the review for the first DVD.

The concert started with a bang, with Okui Masami and Mizuki Nana singing a duet of 輪舞-revolution.

The duet was a fresh way of singing the song, showing Mizuki Nana’s versatility too. The 2nd chorus was sung a little wrongly on Nana-chan’s part, but it’s a difficult song, I’ve gotta admit.

Next was Masami Okui’s solo of her recent single, -w-. I actually like that song, surprisingly. Most of her non-anime songs aren’t that nice usually.

Does anyone agree with me that Masami Okui is tons more sexy this year compared to last year’s?

The dance sequence was really nice, fits the song well. She danced and sang too! Great effort =D

Next is Momo Haruko singing Romantic summer from the anime Seto no Hayaname.

She started out with this…

HENSHIN SEQUENCE!

….and changes costume in a flash for the song WONDER MOMO-i.

Follow up is MINORIN~~~~~~~ XDDD~~ she looks so nice in that costume. Both songs, Junpaku Sanctuary and Kimi ga Kureta ano Hi (君がくれたあの日) were from a recent single (at that point of time)

Junpaku Sanctuary was the first song she started.

Next was 君がくれたあの日。 Awesome performance. I always like Minorin’s Lives.

The duet of Seishoujo Ryouiki (聖少女領域) done by ALI Project and Mizuki Nana was great, with the misty floor bringing the dreamy feeling, and the lolita-ish outfits that both of them wear.

Mizuki Nana ended up stealing the limelight out of ALI Project, even though it’s ALI Project’s song. XDDD

Kuribayashi Minami sang Yell! and Tsubasa no Pleasure Line after that. (I skipped the guy’s performance) It was a standard live performance, nothing to shout about. But it’s Minami… and her wearing another (semi) revealing costume again, though I prefer last year’s costumes. =D~

The last performance for the first DVD ended with Suara with 2 powerful songs, Musōka(夢想歌) and Kimi ga Tame (キミガタメ), both songs from Utawarerumono.

My Thoughts:
The first disc had some very nice performances which I liked, especially the duets and Minorin ones. Suara was unexpectedly good, while Minami dropped in standard compared to 06’s Animelo. I had a worse impression of Momoko Haruko because of this live, though, as I expected her to be better, or similar to what she sang for Seto no Hanayame OP.

Comparisons with Animelo 06:
In terms of stage layout and setting, Animelo 07 was an improvement from its previous year’s. However, the costume department was -mostly- worse than last year’s. (I placed -mostly- due to the fact that I actually like Masami Okui’s leather outfit for 07, and Minorin’s dress)

Notice the difference?

The Make Up Department for Animelo 07, too, was worse than its 06 counterparts. Matt sheen on the face is better for live performances, since it hides any imperfections and flaws of the person’s skin. One obvious example would be the difference between Suzumiya Haruhi no Gekisou and Animelo’s makeup done on Chihara Minori.
