DS love incoming.

This post started when I woke up at 5am this morning and made a rather random decision to look up the song list for the second Taiko no Tatsujin DS game. In the process of doing so, I dug up a whole lot of new games for the said console.
(Uh, upcoming backlog? x_x)
Maa, seeing that I use my DS to draw and as a Japanese dictionary but hardly play anything on it these days, new games are very welcome.
So here you are, a post concentrated with anticipation :3
Fangirlism ahead!

First, we have the sequel to the game that made me get a DS in the first place, Meccha! Taiko no Tatsujin DS: Nanatsu no shima no daibouken (めっちゃ!太鼓の達人DS 7つの島の大冒険, quite the mouthful XD;), slated for release April 24th.

Unlike the previous game ( Taiko no Tatsujin DS: Touch de Dokodon! 太鼓の達人DS タッチでドコドン!), this new installment in the taiko series will have an adventure mode. I’m not sure if this is equivalent to the Taiko Portable (PSP) story mode, but according to the summary on the official site, there will be boss fights. Lol, boss fights in a music game. I’m looking forward to that :3
Only a partial song list is available at the moment, though there will be a total of 50 songs (Some of which are repeats from the first TnT DS :<). Currently, songs of note are:
-The Idolm@ster songs ( Agent Yoru wo Iku and Shiny Smile X3)
-Yes! Precure 5 Go Go! OP (PreCure 5, Full Throttle Go Go!)
-Zankoku no Tenshi no Thesis (Already played it on PS2/PSP, but still looking forward to having this one on DS :3)
-SOUSEI NO AQUARION. zomgyes!
On a final note, looking at the screencaps, it seems that they have finally decided to use cuter and relevant displays for the screen, like they did for the other taiko games not on DS. Isn’t all very thrilling a point, until this:

SUPER DEFORMED IM@S CHARACTERS DANCING. ON YOUR NDS SCREEN. This will thus nudge the difficulty up a notch, you see, as you try to ignore the sheer cuteness of Haruka waving at you in order to concentrate on playing. Gah, the cute.

Next is the DS adaptation of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, by Alchemist (Company that ported Higurashi to PS2), Vol. 1 slated for a June 26th release. omfgomfg I can’t wait uwaaaaa

There will be new scenarios in this version, but I’m guessing the story flow will remain the same. The following is a rough outline of what will be covered in the 4 releases:-
Volume 1 – Tatari (祟)
Release Date: June 26th, 2008
-Onikakushi hen
-Watanagashi hen
-Tatarigoroshi hen
-And the first new scenario, Someutsushi hen (染伝し編)
Voume 2 – Sou (想)
Release date unannounced.
-Himatsubushi hen
-Meakashi hen
-And 2 planned new scenarios, titles undisclosed.
Volume 3 – Rasen (螺)
Release date unannounced.
Tsumihoroboshi hen
Minagoroshi hen
-And another 2 new scenarios. Dokidokidokidoki :3
Volume 4 – Kizuna (绊)
Release date unannounced.
-Matsuribayashi hen, apparently with slight alterations from the original.
Miotsukushi hen (PS2 True End, ktkr!)
And yet another two mysterious new scenarios.
This looks very promising, more so than Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Matsuri. At least, it doesn’t look like a ploy to make fans cough up more money for the Higurashi franchise. Alchemist has my trust for now, we’ll see when the first game is out.

Also, like with the Omochikaeri set for the PS2 port, the first press of Kizuna volume 1 will come with some rather…interesting extras. This according to Famitsu:
-A box to store the games
-Sonozaki Kei no Kanzume (Sonozaki’s tin can…)
-Fukou no Trump (Cards of Misfortune , What a name o_o; They are poker cards with Higurashi characters, apparently)
-Watanagashi Cleaner (Watanagashi-themed handphone cleaner, this I need to see XD;;)
-Curry Keshigomu (Chieru sensei’s Curry Eraser. She rubs your skin out if you steal her curry. XDD)
-A memo pad that gets you a replacement, so you can die in some barrel down in Onigafuchi but still be alive somewhere to plot revenge.. wait, nothing makes sense any more.
-Keikaku Sticker (Warning: Wild Rena.)
-Mini Calendar (Finally, something relatively normal o.o;;; Description says that its a calendar that is small enough not to get in the way ^^”)
-And something along the lines of a pouch. To slip handheld consoles in. For omochikaeri purposes.
*runs*
More points of great loev, the OP for Kizuna will be sung by Itou Kanoko (banzai!), and the new scenario (Someutsushi hen) will be fully voiced. Someutsushi hen is largely dominated by the Onisarashi hen (Natsumi <3) and new characters, so that means they haven't been covered in the anime yet. A brief run through of the seiyuu lineup uncovers familiar names like Inoue Kikoue, Kitamura Eri and Mizuhashi Kaori. Hauu, I can't wait.

This seemingly inconspicuous release, titled 13歳のハローワークDS, holds quite the surprise; A Hatsune Miku cameo :D

Mikumiku >< The game itself looks plenty entertaining, too.
It's slated for a May 22nd release. :3

Following up on Hatsune Miku related NDS news, July 08 will see the release of a synthesizer for the DS. Although it doesnt have any vocaloid cameos nor Miku themes, the KORG DS-10 synth is vocaloid compatible. Meaning that you can make weird MIDIs on the bus, feed it to Miku and have her aa~♪ it out. Sure, it might get boring after a while, but it sounds fun :D

*cue loud fangirling, also OMGCUTE*
Puchi Eva for the DS, due for release in 3 days time :D (20th March)

This is not Eva. This is Eva after it has been chibified and passed through dense clouds of cute.

(LOL at chibi!Ikari)

I’m not entirely sure what the plot is about, though the screencaps suggests that the Puchi Eva world revolves around cake. I wholeheartedly approve X3.
And again, link to official site for more details and your chibi fix.

What attracted me to Lux Pain at first were the seiyuu involved in the game. Nakamura Yuuichi is in it, so is Minorin (as a cute goth loli o_o), Midorikawa Hikaru and Noto Mamiko >3
Secondly, theres’ the beautiful promotional art and visually appealing character designs. Finally, judging from the story/system sections of their official site, it seems to be one of those suspense mystery games. Which also makes it a must-play for me, I like that genre. Yes, I have high expectations for this title :3

Next, on the Gundam 00 DS game, slated for release on the 27th of this month (Official site here)
I had initially dismissed this at first glance, because anime-to-ds game adaptations are usually only good for about an hour of play before they get really boring. But after I saw the screencaps…

Yes, I’m definitely going to give this a try. >D
Also, as a rather pointless extra, the Gundam 00 game also gives you modelling tips :o

And yet another visual novel for the DS, Breath -吐息は茜色-
This game has Noto Mamiko and Inoue Marina doing the voicing for the two main heroines, and the artwork is pretty solid too.

I’m expecting this to be another generic story with generic themes, but Noto will keep me going ^^;
(It is also interesting to note that there are more female audience-oriented visual novels for the DS XD;;)
Now, going off on a completely different direction, is Kantan! Tanoshii! Owagashi Navi DS

This has just made the DS even more wonderful than it already is for me. ZOMG SWEETS <3
Screencaps ahead, and I will take no responsibility for any hunger pangs triggered XD;;

And lastly, Makai Senki Disgaea makes it to the DS :D However, there is no release date announced yet, nor cover art, so we will make do with screencaps ^^”

(Etna <3)
And thats all X3

Impressive list…. I HUNGER FOR DS ONCE MORE ARGGGGGH
Ugh… Don’t know if I can purchase the Gundam 00 for DS as I am already pre-ordering Crisis Core FF7 english release. I drool to the videos, thus, I pre-ordered it without 2nd thoughts.
That dessert game looks awesome. I’ll have to buy it cause I need a new game anyway! ^_^
Damn~ About time i get an NDS. Or you could let me try a few of those in future. XD
The Puchi Eva game tries to brainwash you into thinking that UCC coffee is good stuff. It’s a conspiracy!!!
