AFA has just come and went.

And over here on Bonkurasu, we’re doing an upgrade too! Besides having our Wordpress version upgraded, we’ll be shifting to a dedicated server too. In the meantime, there won’t be any updates in the next day or 2.

Of course, we’ll try to cover as much as possible after the upgrade!

Okay, this clip totally changed my opinion on how Dream Fighter is inferior to the dance steps of their previous single, Love the World. The dance sequence was captivating and interesting, and I like how the lighting made their skin seemingly ‘glow from the inside’. The music and singing had already started to grow on me.

Looping the HD version of the clip several times today totally didn’t help.

By the way, their Dream Fighter single hit #2 in the Japanese Oricon weekly charts! Congratulations!

The day we get cute pictures of May’n in the newspapers.

AFA was covered by the local newspapers, both The Straits Times and The New Paper, featuring relatively interesting write-ups about both Mizuki Aniki and May’n. On the day after the event, ST featured a report on the turn-out of the event (along with the usual pictures of cosplayers).

One day left until Minorin’s 2nd album, Parade, is released!

Of course, I’ve pre-ordered my copy, together with Bjorn’s copy.

Her blog also got an upgrade, to commemorate the album’s upcoming release.

Happy SRW/Aniki fan is happy. That’s me, by the way.

Either I’m really out of my mind, or the excitement haven’t kicked in yet. Because many other friends still experience withdrawal symptoms from the awesome concerts at the end. Several of them got their desired items signed, and I’m proud for them.

Both singers belted out tunes that surpass their CD recorded counterparts greatly.

The first Anime Festival Asia is now over, and from the looks of things, it can be expected to be an annual fixture for the next 3 years, at the very least.

Truth be told, AFA08 has to be the best thing that happened to me all year. It felt like a decade’s worth of fangirling crammed into a little over 2 days. Sheer bliss, I must say, and at the end of it all, I inadvertently wondered if I could ever adjust back to reality (Which I did, faster than I imagined I would). Hardly surprising, seeing that so many things, of varying scale, brought me joy over the past weekend. Smiles all around from gratified fanboys/fangirls, seeing Koji Morimoto in the flesh (and getting a doodle/autograph from him :D), experiencing the energy of Aniki’s live, May’n talking to me, May’n’s emotionally-packed live, May’n wishing me a happy birthday, May’n’s legs…

Ah, so much for sounding serious.

As much as the merchandise tempted me to buy them, I controlled myself much by:
1) bringing a May’n fan who flew all the way from Japan just to watch her concert. Will elaborate more about him later.
2) having a weird ‘meet the Bonkurasu’ session near Graphite’s booth; which was rather retarded, really.

…it’s mainly due to the CD purchases (eg singles of the MF songs and Perfume LE singles) and whatnot.

The cosplay segment wasn’t really that noteworthy, since this year, I didn’t have the capital, desire, and drive to cosplay for this year’s event (and other events to come in the near future). It felt more like a mini-event than a major event, cosplay-wise. Maybe that’s why some of my friends were complaining about it; it didn’t have the ‘cosplay’ atmosphere. (well, it -is- an anime event, not solely a cosplay one)

Doujin booths were a minimal, but sales were brisk in almost every booth.
