This issue covers a mini photoshoot and an interview session with the 3 girls.

The following is a transcript and translation of the interview.

Q1　小学生からの仲良しだと聞きましたが、今だから言える話ってありますか？
のっち　Perfumeになる前はクラス（３人が通っていたアクタースクール）が遠ってたんですけど、発表会とかを見て”可愛いなぁ”って思ってました。２人はアイドルう的存在でしたね。
あ～ちゃん　え、そうなんですか！？
のっち　そうなんです（笑）。
かしゆか　最初、のっちと会ったとき、イケイケな５人組にいたから、話しかけづらかった（笑）。ゆか、たぶん直接のっちに話しかけてないよね。あ～ちゃんを通してだってと思う。
あ～ちゃん　かしゆかはめっちゃ男のコっぽい感じの女のコだったんですよ。真っ黒の服でズボンにロンTで、靴も黒で。のっちは、さやえんどうみたいな子でした。面長で。そして歌が劇的にうまくて、上のクラスだったですよ。私たちは雑種のクラスだったので（笑）。

Q1 I’ve heard that Since Primary school, you girls have been buddies, anything regarding that?
nocchi : Prior to Perfume’s existence, even though our class (the 3 of us went to an Acting School) was far from each other, I thought to myself “so cutee” when I met them during a recital. Both of them had an idol feel around them.
a~chan : Eh, is that so!?
nocchi : Yup (lol)
kashiyuka : Initially, when I first met nocchi, she was in a popular 5 person group, so I hesitated to talk to her (lol). I didn’t talk to you directly, did I? At first I talked to nocchi through a~chan, I think.
a~chan : kashiyuka was damn boy-ish for a girl at that time, wearing a completely black trousers and a round neck tee, (her) shoes were also black. nocchi was a pint-sized child back then, with a long face. She was really good at singing and drama, and was one of the top classes. We (referring to kashiyuka and herself), on the other hand were from a mixed class (lol).

Q2　男のコに生まれたとしたら何がしてみたいことはありますか？
のっち　絶対に、カッコイイ男の人になって、ナンバしたい！モテ男で。
あ～ちゃん　チャラチャラじゃん！
のっち　うん、チャラチャラしたい（笑）。
かしゆか　女の人はしないけど、男の人って、タンクトップだけで歩いてるじゃないですか！
のっち　それもチャラチャラよね（笑）。
あ～ちゃん　え～どらしよう！？土木工事してる人の、あの格好がしてみたい！汗水だらして働く男で！
のっち　全然チャラくないし。

Q2 If you were to be born as a guy, what kind of guy would you think of yourself to be?
nocchi : Without a doubt, I’ll be a cool type of guy, tell me your number please! Popular guy.
a~chan: show off, show off !
nocchi : Yeah, imma show off (lol).
kashiyuka : Don’t have much thoughts for a female, but if as a guy, won’t I be walking around only with a tank top?
nocchi : That’s showing off, too (lol).
a~chan : Eh~ what should I be!? Maybe a public servant, those with a nice build kind. Very manly with sweat trickling down!!!
nocchi : That doesn’t seem appealing at all.

Q3　Perfumeがこの３人でよかったと思う時はどんな時ですか？
のっち　いっつも！
かしゆか　３人とも笑いのシボが浅いので、毎日ってて楽しいです！
あ～ちゃん　ライヴもそうだし、いいつでもですね。大学の友だちといるときも楽しいけど、３人だとさらに楽しい。

Q3 Do you girls of Perfume ever thought about being glad to have each other? If so, when was it?
nocchi : All the time!
Kashiyuka :The 3 of us smiling at each other may seem superficial, but everyday’s just fun!
a~chan : Not only during the ‘Live’, it happens everywhere. Even though I have fun with friends from college, even if it’s only the 3 of us, life would still be interesting.

Q4　カラオケで十八番はなんですか？
あ～ちゃん　aikoさんの「恋道」。新しいアルバムに入ってる曲です。
のっち　（木村）カウラさんの「STARs」
かしゆか　カラオケもう半年くらい行ってないや（笑）。私、あんまり歌れないんですよ。タンバリンやったり、聽いてだりします。

Q4 What’s your best karaoke song?
a~chan : aiko’s ‘Koi michi’.　A song from her recent album.
nocchi : (Kimura) Kaela’s ‘STARs’.
kashiyuka : Haven’t been to karaoke for about half a year already (lol). I personally don’t really sing (in karaoke). I play with the tambourine, and simply just listen (to other people singing instead).

Q5　Perfumeの曲の中で一番テンシヨンがあがる歌は？

あ～ちゃん　「ポリリズム」！「チヨコレト・ディスコ」！やっぱりライヴのイメージ強いので、ライヴで盛り上がる曲ですね
かしゆか　「ポリリズム」かな～。
のっち　私も。
あ～ちゃん　あと「Puppy Love」！

Q5 Which Perfume song would be the best to raise the heat/tension?
a~chan : ‘Polyrhythm’! ‘Chocolate Disco’! Without a doubt, these songs have very strong ‘image’ (TL-er : more like impression) during ‘Live’, and getting the crowd heated up.
kashiyuka : Probably ‘Polyrhythm’~
nocchi : Same here.
a~chan : Also, ‘Puppy Love’!
