Perfume : BudoukaaaaaaaaaaaN! review [DVD 01] Part 1
Perfume has never cease to amaze (and amuse) me, and with their current LIVE DVD out, it was set to be a blast watching the entire performance.

Thus here I am, doing a review of this fabulous DVD. I skimmed through it once, and I noticed immediately that a substantial amount of camera angles in the television broadcast version were replaced with better ones. That alone raised the experience a notch.
Another thing I noticed was the audience interaction. It was way more than what was shown on TV.
Onwards to the review!

START:

Budoukan easily accommodated 20,000 people within its interior, and looking at it with all the lights on and comparing the crowd with all the lights dimmed during the concert itself was really awe-inspiring as the feeling and mood was totally transformed.
The concert kicked start with a screen countdown and some optical illusion play with props, and Computer City was the first song to be performed. Dressed in glittery pink overcoat, it was original, but it doesn’t have the same impact as what they did for their GAME LIVE TOUR DVD. But what comes after that was…
…Truly astounding and seamless. The girls cut short of a portion of Computer City and meld themselves to the next song that is edge. Even them taking off their overcoats to reveal another costume underneath was really cool. The dance that followed was even better. With about 6 different dance steps that they did at different sequences at the same time, and eventually melding into the same one at the end, the effect was really beautiful. The large screen behind gave the song and even ‘edgier’ feel with the mechanical-like ‘interface’.
It was the first time for ‘edge’ to be performed LIVE, so Budoukan attendees get to be the first to watch it.
They went straight into Electro World right after that, performing the single version. The album version had a longer introduction. The Electro World performance was given a face lift with Budoukan’s equipment, lighting effects and lasers.
You can see that the girls are really grateful for having the opportunity to be able to perform in Budoukan, as a proof they have finally made it big after toiling since Grade 6. They bowed and thanked the audience 3 times! The recording for the Budoukan DVD was during their second day performing in Budoukan. Some one-liner jokes were made by nocchi, and their first major audience call : a-chan’s response to them was rather amusing. Kashiyuka looked visibly tired, as she rested the most amongst the 3 of them.
