VF100 ‘Chogokin’ series – Give me my Armored pack, Bandai.

This is very tempting.

At only a fraction of the price of a normal 1/60 Chogokin VF-25, I can get a similar, though albeit smaller version of the exact same thing. The only thing I’d complain, or at least I know most people might, would be the size. But hey, for only a third of the price, you are still getting more than half the size. That’s a good enough deal for me. Not to mention that with the lack of space in my already cramped room, a smaller counterpart to the 1/60 scale Chogokin would be a better option for me.

The main reason why the VF100 series of ‘Chogokin’ attracted me, was that it looks really sleek, and I don’t really care much about actual proportions, so long as it looks right and/or sleek enough for me. The decals and paint job look decent enough, and I can’t complain too much about that.

Now, the final factor to ‘push’ me into getting one, would be the inclusion of a Super Pack and/or Armored pack. Even if it’s an add-on package, I might still be tempted to get it. Who knows.

What would get me into the VF100s is if Bandai does a proper Frontier-marking VB-6 Konig Monster!!! Until then, the overpriced DXs just have more shelf presence.

What has got me into V-100’s is the fact that they are transforming display pieces of the Macross VFs. They are not made for regular play like the DX series is.

They are small enough to fit nicely on a shelf in whatever mode you like, posable, and well sculpted.

I am somewhat surprised Yamato hasn’t re-released it’s VF-6 Monster, but for all we know there may be a licensing dispute between them and Bandai over the 1/100 scale release.

If one does get released, then that would be quite the crown on the Frontier line of VF-100’s!!

Well with the announcement of the VF-22 Gamlin by Yamato, it appears that Bandai and Yamato may have traded rights to their mecha. I’ve noticed both are steering well clear of releasing scales that the other has. Yammie, 1/60 & 1/48 toys while Bandai, focusing on 1/72 and 1/100 scale toys and kits.

    @ Zinjo

Well, looks like Bandai is coming out the armored pack versions after all. And yes, having a conflict of scale would pose quite the problem for both parties, so I suppose it’s a good trade-off. And besides, they both have varying standards with each individual scale.
