Its coming.
The XN Raiser conversion kit, its coming on the 25th next month with the October issue of Hobby Japan.
Ok, this post will kind of recap on this furoku kit and talk about 2 interesting fan variations (8 swords? 13 swords?) involving the XN Raiser design.

About the title, XN(ザン) is pronounced as “Zan” and the kanji “斬” also reads as “Zan”. “斬” has the “to cut or slash” meaning which relates to the huge GN Buster Sword III of the 00 XN Raiser.

The first announcement of XN Raiser in an issue of Hobby Japan if I’m not wrong

The XN Raiser is designed by Kanetake Ebikawa, who also designed Exia, Astraea, 00 and other mecha designs in Gundam 00 and other series (check out the link ;)). Its part of the ongoing “00V” series serializing in Hobby Japan. Hobby Japan hits its 40th anniversary this August so a XN Raiser coversion kit is produced and bundled with that month’s issue as an anniversary special (similar to Dengeki Hobby’s 10th Anniversary with Rasiel and Sefer).

With that I suppose the full specs and story (probably some excuse why it isn’t deployed) of the XN Raiser will be known when the issue comes out next month. What is obvious from the pictures is the GN Buster Sword III (GN Buster Sword II is part of the 00 Seven Sword armaments) which can be used as 2 swords or combined to 1 sword. The XN Raiser also has 2 subarms to hold extra weaponery.

XN Raiser docks with 00 Gundam to become 00 XN Raiser but the sole XN unit/parts combine with 00 Gundam to become XN 00 Gundam.
As usual the October issue will have a “how to” guide to building the XN Raiser.

Actually the XN parts are as “sociable” as GN Sefer

Later on it is revealed that the XN parts can be used on other 00 season 2 CB Gundams and MS too (Seravee has 8 arms now!). But just like Sefer’s connectivity this is only a plamo original gimmick and not part of the Sunrise official settings. Thats not all that that the XN parts can connect with, the picture says that you may find other combinations with your imagination (maybe one with Arche Gundam?).

Ok, that pretty much sum up on the XN Raiser.
Now to the fanmade variations.

Familiar? Yup, you’ve seen it in a previous post.

First variation, dubbed “00 Raiser Eight Sword” by its creator.
The base kit is a HG 1/144 00 Raiser with the other parts scratchbuilt.
Taller then the base kit as its on high heels :P

The kit was eventually auctioned off for 125,000yen (starting from 1yen, ended with 65 bids).

Second variation.

Its a 3DCG design.
A combination of 00 XN Raiser and the 00 Seven Sword equipment with an extra GN Sword III.
Not bad, has the big and heavy feel.
