I’ll be frank here – I hate the clunkiness of the controls of GTA 4 as well as its DLCs. But the upcoming GTA V blew me away when it released a teaser video of the game’s features and functions. The way it is played reminds me of Max Payne 3′s, which I really like. I have not played Red Dead Redemption yet, but from the stuff I’ve seen, it looks pretty similar.
So apparently some Nvidia senior IR director revoked their statement on Twitter stating that a slew of games will be coming out this Fall, which includes GTA V. Just hours ago, GTA V’s online world teaser clip was released on youtube, and boy does it look spiffy! Well, it can look better if a mid-high end PC were to run this beast of a game.
The ability to do online missions solo or with friends – or even strangers – does give a sense of freedom. It’s like Second Life with loads of shooting and looting. Here are some of the features that I especially like:
- Missions provided by Rockstar’s online servers (think MMORPG style)
- Apartments and houses to own
- A friggin’ crazy assortment of vehicles to pilot, such as cars, planes, boats, submarines, fighter jets… do they have tanks in there?
- customization options for clothes, tattoos and hairstyles
- user created race and FFA missions
Now, if there’s a PC version, I would totally love to upload my own clothes designs and have my avatar to wear it all around. Marketing Metronome shirt designs even in the GTA world! Even better if one could upload images to turn their cars into Itashas. There’s another thing, though. Can the player purchase or adjust the furniture within his (avatar’s) apartment/house? If so, it would totally be awesome if I could line up all my Perfume posters within my virtual apartment… guhehe.
Sadly, all of these can’t be done without the user contributing it via a PC. Unless of course, you make use of a thumbdrive and place all the image data files into your PS3/Xbox 360, and the game detects the specific images and allows you to customize/use them for decorative purposes.
…but these are all based purely on speculation and of course, on a fan wish basis.
Now Nvidia, please tell us that you are currently going through the process of making a PC port already!2 comments
