Daicon stash and random news

Both this DVD and the one at Daicon showed rare Minorin Legs

Ummmm yeah. Since my ‘artiste shrine’ has signatures of Minorin and May’n now, all I need now is to complete it with a signed album from Perfume….. but the girls are too mainstream for me to even wish for that. Their Sapporo City Hall performance tickets for August 26 sold out before you can say ‘CHOCOLATE DISCO’. >_>

…ARGH whatever -_- figma and other news after the cut.

Mecha Updates (Gunpla and Chogokin) 06/09

Quick update on the gunpla and chogokin from this month, but first up, is the Chogokin segment.

cgk

Yes. The above is a Transformable Chogokin variant of Mazinger Z with God Scrander, transformable into Big Bang Punch mode. I was half-expecting a Chogokin version when Bandai announced a kit version to be out sometime in August. Now that the pictures hold truth to my expectations, well done.

16cm tall. Late October release, 9,240 Yen (inclusive of tax).

More pictures on the God Scrander Mazinger Z Chogokin and other revoltech news over here.

Mikatan’s Nendoroid Saber Lily preview

SL
ZOMG SO MOE

I’m not a sucker for moe blobs (again) but this month is double whammy.

First I realised/noticed the Nendoroid Al Azif too late, and now a completed preview of the Saber Lily version.

For all you Type-Moon or Fate/Stay Night suckers, click on the picture above for the link to the post.

Saber Lily will cleave you if you don’t buy her when she is out.

actSta, the bigger figma

Not to be mistaken though, Good Smile Company’s new 1/8 scale action figure series “actSta” is a seperate line of figures from Max Factory’s “figma” series. (Though in my gunpla mind I compare figmas to 1/144 and actSta to 1/100).

Anyway the first in the “actSta” series is Subaru Nakajima from the anime Nanoha StrikerS.

Picture from Mikatan blog. Check there for more pictures.

In the case of the name “actSta”, the “act” part comes from “action, actor, active” (emphasize the action and moveability aspect) and the “Sta” part comes from “statue” (emphasize on the quality, detail and beauty). The name portrays the aim of this action figure series.

Figurines tempt me yet again

While I have managed to stop my figurine-buying temptations thus far, Max Factory, Alter and Figma line of figurines tempt me yet again, not to mention they will release pretty soon, too.

1/8 Yoko by Alter, June 2009 release

The very figure than made me convulsed (in a good way) late last year during some figurine exhibition fair in Japan. The sculpt is incredible beyond expression, and nicely produced into a PVC figure.

KKnM’s own Saimoe + lucky dip!

saimoeb

The following news is copied from NK-DS, who took the news from KKnM’s campaign page. And because I’m such a lazy ass blob in blogging this. XD;

“For every $30 spent during this period of time, you will get a coupon to vote for your favourite character. There are no restrictions on whom you can vote for! That mean’s Jun Watarase is eligible too! Other promos include a free older issue of Megami for every $100 spent and lucky bags which contain random stuff for sale.

At the end of the campaign, there will be a lucky draw for all participants.”

Here are some of the prizes:

EVA-05 design revealed

Revoltech loves to give us a heads up, this time with the elusive Gainax. The design of EVA-05 is shown on evangeliwon’s blog.

EVANGELION PROVISIONAL UNIT-05

The 4 legged mechanical beast is probably a repaired/improvised EVA-03, after it got ripped apart by EVA-01 when it got infested by Bardiel. I suppose Touji might escape alive from that encounter. Notice that the head structure is very similar to it. It might be a last minute attempt to make use of every EVA they have, probably to combat against Zeruel.

Next up is EVA-02’s additional armor platings, possibly for airdrop missions and glider mode?

Iteza roku ji mou ossokunatta!

What?

Don’t understand a single thing of the Moonspeak title means?

‘I’m late for this post!!!’

Yeah, I hope this would help. And it’s already 6am now. XD

Both NK-DS and CDS has already posted up on the details for KKnM’s ‘Macross Kuji Day’, which begins from 1.30pm later today!

From CDS:

Simply buy a ticket at $18 per try or $15 per try for every $20 spent and you may just walk home with one of these fabulous prizes! Each try is a sure win and a maximum of 5 tickets are permitted for each buyer before he needs to re-queue.

2 sets will be on sale mainly at two different timings. The first set will be up for grabs from 1.30pm onwards while the second set will be available after 4pm.

I’ll be going, just to see who picks out Sheryl. 8D

VF100 ‘Chogokin’ series – Give me my Armored pack, Bandai.

For more pictures, click on the picture above to go to amiami.

This is very tempting.

At only a fraction of the price of a normal 1/60 Chogokin VF-25, I can get a similar, though albeit smaller version of the exact same thing. The only thing I’d complain, or at least I know most people might, would be the size. But hey, for only a third of the price, you are still getting more than half the size. That’s a good enough deal for me. Not to mention that with the lack of space in my already cramped room, a smaller counterpart to the 1/60 scale Chogokin would be a better option for me.

The main reason why the VF100 series of ‘Chogokin’ attracted me, was that it looks really sleek, and I don’t really care much about actual proportions, so long as it looks right and/or sleek enough for me. The decals and paint job look decent enough, and I can’t complain too much about that.

Now, the final factor to ‘push’ me into getting one, would be the inclusion of a Super Pack and/or Armored pack. Even if it’s an add-on package, I might still be tempted to get it. Who knows.
